While Answer presents the main information in a concise form, Evidence lets you examine the observations and supporting details behind it.
Evidence always shows the complete path of supporting information that leads to the current Pulse answer.
Evidence is available for items in Where, Why, and What.
What you see
The content shown in Evidence depends on the current answer and the supporting information available for it.
Evidence can include:
- observations from the underlying data,
- comparisons between current and better-performing periods,
- relevant batches, lines, machines, shifts, or other production entities,
- time periods used in the analysis,
- baselines or reference ranges,
- repeated patterns identified across observations,
- values used to support financial estimates,
- and other details that explain how the Pulse answer is supported.
Evidence may contain more detailed numerical and supporting information than the main Answer view.
Answer and Evidence
Answer is intended to communicate the most important business information quickly.
Evidence provides the detail behind that answer.
For example, an Answer may state that a production setting is associated with repeated stoppages. Evidence can show where the pattern was observed, how often it occurred, which production areas were affected, and the values used to support the conclusion.
This separation lets you first understand the main message and then review the supporting information when you need more detail.
Moving between views
Select Evidence from the current answer to open its supporting information.
Select Answer to return to the main view.
Evidence always relates to the answer you are currently reviewing in Where, Why, or What.
Using Evidence
Use Evidence when you want to:
- understand the basis for a Pulse answer,
- examine the observations behind the current answer,
- review comparisons or supporting values,
- better understand an estimated financial impact or savings,
- or investigate an answer in more detail before deciding what to do next.
